Another quick and simple layout to share with you today. I love this photo of the kids and I curled up on the couch reading "The Magic Faraway Tree" before bed. I loved Enid Blyton's books when I was young and it is so nice to be able to share these stories with my own children, and watch them get taken away to those magical places we come across from time to time in a good book.
This photo has been sitting (amongst many) in my photo box for a year or so. It was nice to spend my little scrapbooking window of time today popping it onto a layout. The journaling is brief for this one and just reads, 'There's nothing like curling up with a good book.'
Supplies:
Retro Remix wheel (Summer Mini pg 14) with Real Red cartridge. Stampin' Around wheels are a great way to add a border for your layout. You can find an index page that shows all the jumbo wheels and standard wheels in our main catalogue on page 158. Handles and storage containers are on page 157 and cartridges can be found on pages 127 -129.
Kraft and Certainly Celery cardstock
Alphabet sets are so handy if you are a scrapbooker. No more running out of key letters! I've used Short Order Alphabet for this one with Basic Black ink. A black Stampin' Write marker for my journaling.
Certainly Celery and Red Gingham ribbon, my Scallop Edge Punch and some black brads from the Vintage Pack for the finishing touches.
Hope you get some scrapping time this weekend, even if it is just a short moment for a quick and easy layout. It is so relaxing isn't it.
Happy Scrapping!
Cheers, Sue

Hi Sue. Love your LO. Am alwyas inpsired when I see simple and effective designs like yours. Am curious to the size and orientation of your paper? Noticed on your last post too that it looked different to a traditional 12x12. Can you please tell me what size you are working with for your pages? Ta. Jill:)

One of our favourite books too - I am an Enid Blyton fan too and my kids had no choice but to grow up with her books as well - lol Love the photo, one to treasure forever!

Great layout Sue. The white space really balances the photo and the little finishing touches are perfect.
