Hello all. Thought I'd share a simple 8" x 8" double page layout with you today. Like many mums, I have quite a collection of scribbled down quotable moments from my two children. Funny sayings and other gems I know will be fun to read in years to come. Today a scrapping mood hit so I grabbed out a great photo of Jack, some post it notes with quotes and my Stampin' Up stash.
I've used Riding Hood Red textured cardstock, patterned paper, ink and ribbons. It makes it so easy when your products coordinate.
Here's a closer look:
I used the Lots Of Tags sizzlits die to make these little ticket shapes - perfect for my journaling.
The facing page just has the photo, matted on Basic Black for some added oomph. I added a row of hearts punched with the Small Heart punch from the Autumn Winter Mini.
This was a very simple layout but some Stampin' Up tools gave it a bit of a lift.
I used the sponge dauber and Riding Hood Red ink pad to sponge the edges of the hearts, the journaling tickets and the whole page. Adds such a lovely depth to these elements. You can't see in the photo too well but I also used the spritzer and a Real Red marker to spritz some spatter onto the right hand corners. Another way to add some character.
I'm a little sad writing this post as my stint as a StampAMemory design team member comes to an end now. I was sorry to resign - I've had so much fun with Tanja and the other lovely ladies on the StampAMemory crew but juggling all the balls gets tricky some weeks and I regretfully had to let this one go. I look forward to being a very regular visitor to this wonderful site. The fabulous projects the girls create are always guaranteed to get me in the scrapping mood. It has been wonderful to be part of the team and thanks for all that scrapbooking inspiration girls.
Cheers, Sue

Oh, Sue, I LOVE this!! I'm such a 'red' girl, that this layout really appeals to me. What a knockout photo of Jack; too beautiful. Those tickets are perfect for journalling; thanks for the inspiration!

What a fantastic photo of Jack. He's such a handsome chappie! The layout is lovely, and I like the way you've used the tag diecuts. I'll miss seeing your beautiful layouts at SAM.

That's great Sue. I love how you manage to capture the everyday in your photos and journalling. What a great use for that tag from the Big Shot too!
