I was introduced to stamping by a friend about 12 years ago and to scrapping about a year after that. I wasn’t too keen on the idea of scrapbooking at first as stamping was my main interest, but after my first camp I was hooked! Then I came across Stampin’ Up! in a magazine in 2006 and fell in love with their products so I signed up as a demonstrator – just to be able to get my hands on all those goodies! Since then I have met so many lovely people along the way and I love being able to share my passion with anyone who will listen.
We asked Lynn some questions about her scrapbooking and Stampin' Up!
Can you show us a favourite layout?
My favourite Stampin’ Up! layout is one of my partner and myself. It’s very rare to have a photo of the two of us together and I really love how this one came together.
How would you describe your scrapbook space?
Up until a month ago, I was scrapping out of a cupboard in my spare room. I have now moved all my stuff out onto the landing outside our bedroom. I have much more room to move around and it is more open and airy. Just need to make sure I keep it tidy LOL!!
What's your favourite Stampin' Up! colour combination for scrapbooking?
Hmm, that’s a hard one! I am really loving the vintage look at the moment, with the red, black and vanilla but I also love pinks & browns. I guess really, I tend to go for the more earthy colour combinations.
Favourite thing to eat or drink when you are scrapbooking?
If I’m scrapping with friends, or at a camp, then I enjoy sipping on a red, otherwise I tend to just drink coffee. I don’t usually eat when I’m scrapping because I’m one of those people who end up with sticky fingermarks or food splatters across my work!!
Who are your main scrapbook subjects?
Friends and family mostly. I like to scrap and document events such as birthdays & holidays that have happened in our lives. I don’t have children of my own, so my nieces and nephews and their families feature a fair bit. Also, I have taken on the role of family historian and researcher so I have a few albums dedicated to our ancestors as well.
How would you describe your scrapbooking style?
Now that is a hard one!! I guess it really depends on the photos I am scrapping as to how the pages turn out. Usually I like to work with double-layouts though, with lots of photos and lots of embellishments. I guess at the moment I am into the rustic, vintage feel.
If I had an uninterrupted weekend of scrapbooking by myself this weekend I would work on ....
We bought our house about 4 years ago now and I have been meaning to document the changes we have made to it over the few years we have been here, so I think a mini album on our house would be my project
